The Berry Family

For over twenty years, the Lord has been at work in the Berry family, calling each of them in different ways to serve His Church. Michael and Julie have served as leaders in a local church body in Southern Illinois for over two decades, raising their three children in the faith along the way.

Michael was not raised in the church, but when he returned home from serving in the Iraq War, he had a powerful encounter with the Lord that changed the course of his life. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and Education and a Master's degree in Leadership and Administration, and has taught in the church for over twenty years. Julie was raised in a Catholic home, and at twenty-five, experienced the transforming power of Jesus, igniting a pursuit for a personal relationship with the Lord. Impacted by this new revelation, it shaped her heart and shifted her walk to follow Him more deeply in the truth of his love and his word. She has worked in a variety of settings as an Occupational Therapist over the past two decades. In recent years, she has shifted her professional focus to providing services for children with disabilities in schools, and offering therapeutic intervention in homes, coaching and supporting families.

Today, Michael preaches the Gospel and teaches the Word, and started a Spirit-filled club to reach students during his years in public education. Julie serves as an intercessor, teaches children, and disciples and encourages believers in her church and community. Their son, Gabriel, completed a year of Bible college before the Lord called him to serve alongside his parents, and he first answered that call on a COB mission trip to Mexico last year, carrying the Gospel into villages and building upon the work God had already begun in him. Charity, their youngest daughter, is bold in prayer and worshipful in spirit, and serves alongside her family as well. Together, the Berry family serves with Company of Believers in Southern Illinois and has assisted with mission work internationally.

The Berrys are preparing for several upcoming international trips, as they continue serving faithfully in the U.S. They trust the Lord to lead them wherever He calls, and are committed to raising up disciples, strengthening the local church, and carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations.
